RATTLEROCK ULTRA

“More Gain, More Pain”

Rattlerock Ultra will be a premier ultra event in Northern West Virginia. The race will include 50k and 25k distances on rocky, technical trails. The ultra distance boasts just under 6,000 feet of elevation gain—making it one of the toughest 50k races in the state. This event is put on by OFF THE GRID RUNNING, and will be held in the beautiful Coopers Rock State Forest. The mission of the event is to grow accessibility to friendly, quality ultramarathons in the area, while promoting businesses that local trail runners value.   

———RACE DETAILS———

DATE: Saturday, July 23, 2022

LOCATION: Coopers Rock State Park in Morgantown/Bruceton Mills, WV

TIME: pretty early (TBA) but you know you won’t sleep the night before, so…we’re good  

CUTOFF: 9 hours for both

SWAG: Tech tee for all and FINISHER SUNGLASSES (must be earned). Items will not be mailed to runners who do not start.

MARKINGS: The course will be marked with extreme care, and it will be checked right before the event to ensure that no runner gets lost due to spaced out markings or missing or turned around signs. The fact that the event is a loop race will help runners to feel more confident and familiar with each passing loop.

NUMBER OF AID STATIONS: 2 per loop (The 50k will be 4 loops.)

SPONSORS: ALTRA, TAILWIND, ROAM & RUN, and more to come. (We are now accepting additional sponsors, whether local or nationwide.)

REGISTRATION: Registration will open on March 1 on Ultrasignup.com  

ACCOMMODATIONS: Book camping with Coopers Rock State Forest or another nearby campground separately from your race registration. 

CREWS: Crews may hang out at either aid station to provide support for their runner. No pacers will be allowed. We do not want the trail to be overpopulated!

POST RACE MEAL: Pizza Party!

AWARDS: Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers of the Ultra.
